I enjoyed this non-fiction book by Theodore Drieser. It tells about twelve vastly different people who had some kind of lasting effect on him and his life. I found it particularly telling that at least two or three of his novels are based very closely on real life events and people he knew. If you are a fan of Mr. Drieser, you would probably enjoy the insight you get from reading this book.By the way, his brother wrote the Indiana state song using some casual suggestions from Mr. Drieser.
