AA has been focused on horror lately, so I must like it because I keep reading! This is actually one of her better edited, faster moving reads, very little inner angst so the story moved really quickly. Anna is a complicated character - not really dissociative, yet not really whole. The bad guy was really well done, too. The Hero, Braden, that's where my issue was. He was just too wishy washy - he was an angry mess, then he met the religious girl who calmed his bad side. But most of the book she was just plain evil, so I struggled with resolving his initial attraction to her with her real personality. Lots of man tears, too. Matters not, I will definitely read the next one.Product details

I read books usually within a one-two week time frame but I was so engulfed in the characters. Seriously, there was one point where I felt like my chest was about to implode due to the adrenaline rushing through my veins. There were moments I was hoping for the best for the characters and hoping the psychological factor wouldn't destroy me as a reader. I have to say, this is definitely a pitch black read.
The tastefulness and artistic style involved in creating these heinous acts and scenes really pulled me into the world. Hell, there were moments where I even had to question my own sanity. This is another fantastic piece by an author I highly respect simply because she understands the concept of creating a PHENOMENAL STORY. I'm going to need a few days to collect myself and pick up the shattered bits. This was an intense read.

This book is brilliant. It is a mind messing, stomach churning, gripping ride, that will leave you wanting more. The story line and characters draw you into the book and keep you hooked to the very end. It has definetly become another one of myfavourite books by A.A Dark!
Absolutely amazing! I was pulled in from the first page and couldn't put it down! What a roller coaster of emotions on this one! My heart swelled when Anna and Braden began to fall in love. That quickly turned to despair, then to hope. Finally, anger and grief for all she went through. I can't wait for the next book!
